SMS Consent Agreement
This agreement governs the sending of SMS text messages by FaceAccess. It is compliant with Twilio Acceptable Use Policy, TCPA, and applicable carrier regulations.
๐ฑ Twilio-Compliant SMS Consent
FaceAccess uses Twilio to send SMS messages. Consent to receive SMS is obtained at the point of phone number collection โ at account registration and during onboarding. Consent is stored and may be audited. Consent is never a condition of purchasing any service.
1. Who Sends SMS Messages
SMS messages are sent by FaceAccess (the "Company") via Twilio, our SMS delivery provider. Messages are sent from short codes or dedicated long codes assigned to FaceAccess. You can identify FaceAccess SMS messages by the sender name or number displayed in our onboarding communications.
2. Types of SMS Messages Sent
By providing your phone number and consenting to SMS, you may receive the following categories of messages:
- Security & Authentication: One-time passcodes (OTP), login verification codes, and multi-factor authentication tokens
- Access Alerts: Notifications when your face is recognized at a door or access point, unauthorized access attempts, and lock status changes
- Account Alerts: New device enrollment, biometric data changes, password resets, and suspicious activity alerts
- Service Updates: Maintenance windows, policy changes requiring action, and critical service notifications
FaceAccess does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising SMS messages without separate and explicit consent.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your account activity and security settings. Transactional messages (authentication codes, access alerts) are event-driven. Typical users receive 1โ10 messages per month. During active access control sessions, frequency may increase.
4. Message and Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. FaceAccess does not charge separately for SMS messages, but your carrier may charge for incoming or outgoing texts per your plan.
5. How to Opt Out
You can opt out of SMS messages at any time using the following methods:
- Reply STOP to any FaceAccess text message to immediately unsubscribe from all SMS communications
- Reply STOP ALL to unsubscribe from all message types simultaneously
- Visit your account Settings โ Notifications โ SMS Preferences
- Contact support@faceaccess.com with your phone number and opt-out request
After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message. No further messages will be sent except as required by law. Note: Opting out of SMS may limit certain security features that rely on phone verification.

7. Supported Carriers
FaceAccess SMS messages are supported by all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and regional carriers. Coverage and delivery may vary by carrier and location. FaceAccess is not responsible for undelivered messages due to carrier issues.
8. Consent Is Not a Condition of Service
Your consent to receive SMS messages is entirely voluntary and is not a condition of purchasing or using FaceAccess services. You may use the platform without providing SMS consent, though certain security features may require phone verification.
9. How Consent Is Obtained
FaceAccess obtains express written consent to send SMS messages at the following touchpoints:
- Account Registration (Business, Home, and Mobile sign-up forms) โ checkbox consent with disclosure language
- Onboarding Wizard โ step 0 phone number field with inline consent notice
- Profile Settings โ when phone number is added or updated in account settings
The exact consent language displayed to users is shown below. Consent is logged with a timestamp and stored in our systems for compliance purposes.

11. Privacy of Your Phone Number
Your phone number is used only for the purposes described in this agreement and our Privacy Policy. FaceAccess does not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Your number is shared with Twilio solely for message delivery and subject to Twilio's data processing agreements.
12. Applicable Law
This SMS Consent Agreement and all related SMS messaging practices comply with:
- Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA)
- CAN-SPAM Act (where applicable)
- CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices
- Twilio Acceptable Use Policy
- Applicable state consumer protection laws
